Believe it or not, I, a complete anti-nerd, have found my enthusiasm for technology after all. To be precise, for smart technology. But from the beginning.
When friends of mine, admittedly they are all technology fans, raved to me about how much more free time they now have just by making a few smart purchases, I didn't really want to believe them at first. Robots that do the work for people, on the other hand, I was rather skeptical from the beginning. My natural curiosity finally won out, however, and I took a closer look at them on my next visit. And as it always happens, some devices interested me more, others less. Smart washing machine, refrigerator... You have to fill them up on site anyway, so why can't you just start them up right away? If the refrigerator would now fill itself and the laundry would fly into the machine... that would be an innovation... Well, all joking aside.
After that, I took a look at the smart vacuum cleaner. I have to admit that I was magically attracted to it. Cleaning has never really been fun for me and that should be taken away from me with a click? My interest was piqued and I had everything shown to me. What I liked the most was the schedule function, you can just let the robot vacuum when you are not at home. This way, you don't even hear the roar of the robot vacuum. Fascinating! Of course, it "only" vacuums and mops the floor, climbing up furniture and dusting it can unfortunately not yet, but who knows, maybe that's still coming. I had one or two other smart objects shown to me, but my favorite was actually the vacuum robot, which should also be my next purchase.
Once home, I informed myself about the various models, of course I also looked at my friend's robot model, which I had already really liked. After a lot of back and forth, however, it was a little too expensive for me. He had various other Schicki-micki functions that the cheap models do not have, but I did not necessarily need. I liked the vacuum robot from the brand Chuango: Relatively inexpensive with a lot of additional material and simple in appearance, perfect! The brand itself said nothing to me, but made a good impression overall and it advertised easy operation, which was of course very important to me. Bought, quickly delivered, directly connected, app installed and sucked off. Who knew that smart home could be so simple.
My conclusion after several weeks of use: I now let him sweep almost every other day through the apartment and he always leaves decent dust with. Of course, it does not completely free me from dusting (people are somehow irreplaceable) but it actually gives me more free time in everyday life, because the normal floor mopping after work is completely eliminated and I can sit comfortably in my chair and read the newspaper.
