Information on the authenticity of customer reviews

Our customers' trust in our products is very important to us. Chuango.co.uk collects reviews via two independent service providers, which are then displayed in various places on our website. Both service providers use automated and manual measures to verify the authenticity of incoming reviews.

The JudgeMe widget

Directly integrated into the Shopify store system is the JudgeMe widget service. JudgeMe automatically sends an email requesting a customer review to the email address stored in the Chuango customer account after the order process.

The incoming reviews are automatically verified, based on the store's sales history. The reviews are only scored if they are related to a specific order. Verified customers who have rated via JudgeMe are marked with "confirmed" and have been verified by the widget.

Chuango.co.uk is also entitled to subsequently verify reviews that have not been received via JudgeMe and to have them integrated into the widget. In doing so, employees manually verify the authenticity of the purchase transaction and the origin of the rating from the email address stored in the customer account using the associated Shopify data.

Only when the correlation of these data is confirmed, the rating is displayed in the widget.

More about how JudgeMe works is explained here (available in English only).

In addition, our customers have the option to rate us externally via Trustpilot.

The external service provider Trustpilot

In order to be able to rate on Trustpilot, users must create an account there, provided they do not have a conflict of interest with the rated company, e.g. because they are employees. The user account includes the provision of an e-mail address via which the company maintains contact with the reviewers.

Users agree to abide by the company's own guidelines for reviewers.

Every review on Trustpilot is checked by the company's own automated fraud detection software, which identifies and removes fakes. It examines multiple data points such as IP addresses, user IDs, device characteristics, location data and timestamps to determine if there are any suspicious patterns of behavior. The software is supported by a team of specialists who can manually review and, if necessary, delete reviews and block abusive users* when in doubt.
