Smart Home Revolution: Really more free time thanks to smart helpers?
Share
Believe it or not, I, a complete anti-nerd, have finally discovered my passion for technology. Smart technology, to be precise. But let's start from the beginning.
When friends of mine – admittedly, they're all tech fans – raved to me about how much more free time they now have thanks to a few smart purchases, I didn't really want to believe them at first. I was always skeptical about robots that do people's work. But my natural curiosity won out, and on my next visit, I took a closer look. And as is always the case, some appliances interested me more than others. Smart washing machines, refrigerators… You have to fill them up right there anyway, so why not just turn them on?! If the refrigerator filled itself and the laundry flew into the washing machine… that would be an innovation… Oh well, joking aside.
Smart helpers: the first impression of the robot vacuum cleaner
After that, I took a look at the smart vacuum cleaner. I have to admit, I was magically drawn to it. I've never really enjoyed cleaning, and they wanted to do it for me with just a click? My interest was piqued, and I let them show me everything. I liked the schedule function best; you can just let the robot vacuum when you're not at home. That way you don't even hear the robot vacuum making noise. Fascinating! Of course, it "only" vacuums and mops the floor; unfortunately, it can't climb furniture or dust yet, but who knows, maybe that will come later. I let them show me one or two other smart devices, but my favorite was definitely the robot vacuum, which will also be my next purchase.

And the final decision
When I got home, I researched the different models and, of course, took a look at my boyfriend's robot model, which I had already really liked. After a lot of back and forth, it turned out to be a bit too expensive for me. It did have a few other fancy features that the cheaper models don't have, but I didn't really need them anyway. I really liked the Chuango brand vacuum robot : relatively inexpensive with lots of extras and a simple look , perfect! The brand itself didn't mean anything to me, but overall I made a good impression and it advertised how easy it was to use, which was of course very important to me. I bought it, it was delivered quickly, connected it straight away, installed the app and started vacuuming. Who would have thought that a smart home could be so easy ?
Conclusion
My conclusion after several weeks of use: I now let it sweep my apartment almost every other day , and it always collects a fair amount of dust. Of course, it doesn't completely free me from dusting (people are, after all, irreplaceable), but it does give me more free time every day, because I no longer have to mop the floor after work, and I can sit back and relax in my armchair and read the newspaper.
